Fire Marshal Training

This course looks at the role of the designated fire marshal. Participants learn about the different types of fire extinguisher and how to use them correctly. The course gives participants an understanding of fire regulations and general fire precautions. This is an accredited course. Participants who successfully complete the course will be given an accredited fire marshall certificate which will enable them to be appointed fire marshals The course explores:
  • The role of the fire marshal
  • Liaison with the fire service
  • Action on discovering a fire
  • Fire safety legislation
  • The chemistry of fire
  • Common causes of fire
  • Fire safety precautions
  • Fire drills and evacuation
  • How to use fire extinguishers.
There are no entry requirements. We are obliged to state that the minimum age for participation in this course is 16 years of age.

By the end of the course participants will

  • A clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities as a fire marshal
  • Have a clear understanding of fire; how it starts and how it spreads.
  • They will understand the steps that they can take to prevent fire.
  • Be aware of the different types of evacuation procedure
  • And have an understanding of portable fire-fighting equipment and how to use it.
