Building Teacher’s Maths Subject Knowledge for the New Curriculum

Designed in response to challenges presented by the National Curriculum (2014) and also the requirements Ofsted handbook 2015; Primary Mathematics: Building Teachers Maths Subject Knowledge for the New Curriculum: 4 day course is a comprehensive four day course designed to improve teacher’s pedagogy, subject knowledge and skills and give a detailed understanding of the requirements of the Maths curriculum. It is an intense course covering in greater depth areas which concern teachers practice; fractions, simple algebra and geometry.

In developing this course we aim to support teachers in meeting the challenges presented by both the national curriculum and Ofsted requirements, enabling teachers to develop their own knowledge, skills and pedagogy thereby enabling their students to become resilient maths learners, developing their curiosity, enjoyment and greater success in maths.
The course spans four days spread throughout the academic year. The course starts on 10 November 2015 and there are now only 10 places available.
The course dates are:

  • Day 1: 10 November 2015
  • Day 2: 20 January 2016
  • Day 3: 23 February 2016
  • Day 4: 09 March 2016
